Races

A little push sometimes that's all that we need for a life change.......

After spectating the 2014 Ironman Maryland and watching Dana finish her race I decided that I wanted to experience that exhilaration. I started to swim, bike and run with Dana's support and in 2014 I was ready for my first race ever. I was going to race a 5K and that was HUGE, I was so nervous and I could not sleep the night before, I even tempered for this 5K, (don't laugh) that was cute. After the 5K I thought that I could do a longer race and I did. It was a half marathon in less than 2 hours. At this point I want to do a triathlon, so I signed up for a sprint... and for an olympic... and a half Ironman and another and another and another half ironman. Well, at his point I guess I can finish a full Ironman, and I did... and I did it again. When you decide that 50 years old is the beginning of a new life.

In 2013 I met this amazing woman at Skydive Baltimore and she had no idea what she was getting into.

Long story short, in 2015 we got married in Maui, HI and two weeks later we found out she was pregnant. Dana is a busy NASA Scientist and very focused on her career. She's never been married and never had a baby, that is, before Marceeeelo. Between work and normal life Dana always found time to train and race triathlons. Early on Dana introduced me to the world of triathlon, always talking about her upcoming races and training. I always told her she was crazy for putting herself through so much, but in October 2014 I saw something that changed my mind. It was at the Ironman Maryland finish line waiting for her to finish her race. I saw all kinds of people, from early 20's to a 70 years old racing, overweight people, disabled people, a blind guy, and a lot around my own age. They were all suffering and struggling to finish, but they had that amazing smile and the contagious feel…
